Patronize a Disabled Soldier Print E-mail

Patronize a Disabled Soldier Patronize a Disabled Soldier

This is a hand-colored original print of one of the most poignant stereographs of the Civil War. Two Union veterans, one missing his right leg and the other apparently without his right arm, sell candy and lemonade in the Boston Common under a sign that reads, "Patronize a Disabled Soldier."

Although H. Ropes & Co. published this postwar view and other stereoscopic views, the company was not known for Civil War images.
